GOALS FOR LIFE WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM

TO PLAY IN CHARITY EVENT AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

New York Power vs. Columbia Women's Team in Exhibition Match

 

            A women's soccer team representing greater Montclair's Goals for Life charity will participate in this year's Teamwork 2002 Soccer Benefit at Columbia University's Baker Field on Tuesday, April 9. 

 

            The event will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with a free clinic for both children and adults followed by a scrimmage between the New Jersey Goals for Life team and the New York Parlour Moms at 6:00 p.m.

 

            An exhibition match between the New York Power of the Womens United Soccer Assocation (WUSA) and the Columbia University women's soccer team will take place at 7:00 p.m. 

 

            Tickets for Teamwork 2002 can be purchased through Goals for Life by calling 973.429.9950.  There is a suggested charitable donation of $10 per ticket (checks made payable to TEAMWORK 2002).

 

            Teamwork 2002 will raise money for the FORCE Program, a restorative health and wellness program for women with breast cancer in the Harlem Community.  The FORCE Program combines exercise regiments, stress reduction techniques, nutritional counseling in a supportive environment to help breast cancer patients regain control over their lives.

 

            Goals for Life, a non-profit corporation, is dedicated to supporting worthy causes directly affecting women and their families through events and activities inspired by the camaraderie and inner strength of women's sports.  Goals for Life is holding its second annual sports memorabilia auction on Saturday, April 27 at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center; and the Second Annual Women's Charity Soccer Tournament on Saturday, June 8 at Brookdale Park.
